Adjust gym membership
Finally, A Program Designed Specifically For You.
Many people come to us after trying generic gym programs, online workouts or rehabilitation exercises that simply weren’t right for their body.
Our Gym Membership takes a different approach.
Every Gym Membership begins with a comprehensive consultation and strength assessment before one of our Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists designs a fully customised training program. Your program evolves as your strength, fitness and goals change, giving you expert guidance every step of the way.

frequently asked questions
WHO IS THE ADJUST GYM MEMBERSHIP FOR?
The Adjust Gym Membership is designed for adults who want to get stronger, improve their fitness, continue their injury rehabilitation or simply exercise with more confidence. You don’t need to be injured, experienced in the gym or already fit. Your program is built around your individual starting point, goals and any injuries or limitations you may have.
HOW IS ADJUST DIFFERENT FROM A NORMAL GYM MEMBERSHIP?
At a traditional gym, you’re often given access to the equipment and left to work out the rest yourself. At Adjust, your training starts with an assessment by a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist. We then develop a personalised exercise program based on your goals, strength, movement and injury history. You also have access to supervised sessions where our clinical team can help with technique, exercise progression and any issues that arise along the way. It’s a gym membership with allied health support built into it.
I HAVE AN INJURY THAT NEEDS TREATMENT, BUT I’M ALSO INTERESTED IN THE GYM MEMBERSHIP. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Book an Initial Gym Consultation. This is the best starting point. You’ll meet with a Physiotherapist who can begin assessing and treating your injury straight away, while also understanding your goals for training and exercise. From there, we can integrate your treatment and your gym program together, so your rehabilitation and strength training progress side by side. Your plan will be guided and adjusted as needed throughout your membership to ensure you’re supported at every stage.
SHOULD I BOOK MY INITIAL GYM CONSULTATION WITH A PHYSIOTHERAPIST OR AN EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST?
Book with a Physiotherapist if you are currently injured, in pain, recovering from an injury, or want support with injury management or prevention. Book with an Exercise Physiologist if you are generally well and looking to improve strength, fitness, confidence in the gym, or overall health (including those with chronic conditions). If you’re unsure, don’t worry, just book the Initial Gym Consultation and indicate in the booking notes what you are after & we’ll make sure you’re with the right clinician when you arrive.
DO I NEED TO HAVE AN INJURY TO JOIN?
No. While the membership is ideal for people transitioning from physiotherapy or rehabilitation back into regular exercise, you certainly don’t need to be injured. Many members join because they want to get stronger, improve their health, prevent future injuries or feel more confident exercising.
I'M REALLY UNFIT OR HAVEN'T EXERCISED IN YEARS. IS THIS SUITABLE FOR ME?
Absolutely. In fact, this is exactly why we start with an Initial Gym Consultation. There is no fitness level you need to reach before joining. We establish where you are now and build your program from there, progressing things gradually as your strength, fitness and confidence improve.
I'M NERVOUS ABOUT GOING TO A GYM. WILL I KNOW WHAT TO DO?
Yes. You won’t simply be handed a program and expected to figure everything out yourself. We’ll take you through your exercises, show you how to use the equipment and make sure you understand what you’re doing. You can also attend our supervised sessions where a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist is available to help with technique, answer questions and modify your exercises.
CAN I JOIN IF I CURRENTLY HAVE PAIN OR AN INJURY?
In many cases, yes. One of the advantages of training at Adjust is having Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists involved in your exercise program. We can take existing injuries, pain and limitations into account and modify your program where appropriate. Your Initial Gym Consultation allows us to determine the safest and most appropriate way for you to get started.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE INITIAL GYM CONSULTATION?
Your Initial Gym Consultation is where we work out exactly what you need. You’ll meet with one of our Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists to discuss your goals, exercise history, current fitness, injuries and any concerns you have. We’ll assess your movement and strength and use this information to develop an appropriate starting program. It also gives you an opportunity to see the gym, meet our team and ask any questions before getting started.
DO I HAVE TO KNOW WHICH PROGRAM OR MEMBERSHIP I NEED BEFORE I BOOK?
No, that’s what the Initial Gym Consultation is for. You don’t need to work out the right option yourself. Book the consultation, tell us what you want to achieve and we’ll recommend the most appropriate pathway for you.
CAN I SKIP THE INITIAL GYM CONSULTATION?
No. The consultation is an important part of what makes the Adjust membership different from simply joining a standard gym. It allows us to understand your goals, identify any relevant injuries or limitations, establish your starting point and make sure your exercise program is appropriate for you.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?
This will depend on your goals and circumstances, but for most people consistency is more important than doing huge amounts of exercise. We generally recommend a minimum of two sessions per week, however during your Initial Gym Consultation we can recommend an appropriate weekly training frequency and help you build something realistic around your lifestyle.
WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE GYM EQUIPMENT OR LIFT WEIGHTS?
That’s completely fine. You don’t need any previous gym experience. We’ll teach you how to perform your exercises and use the equipment correctly. Our supervised sessions also give you the opportunity to have your technique checked and ask questions as you become more confident.
WILL MY PROGRAM CHANGE AS I GET STRONGER?
Yes. Your program isn’t designed to stay the same forever, in fact, they are prescribed in 4 week blocks. As your strength, movement and confidence improve, your exercises are progressed so you continue to be appropriately challenged and working towards your goals.
CAN I TRAIN WITH MY PARTNER OR FAMILY?
Yes. Having multiple family members training at Adjust can be a great way to make exercise part of your routine. We also offer a 10% Family Group Discount when two or more eligible family memberships are active. Ask our team about this during your Initial Gym Consultation.
IS THERE A MINIMUM MEMBERSHIP TERM?
Yes. Our memberships have an initial 12 week commitment period because meaningful improvements in strength, fitness and movement take consistency. Rather than offering a quick-fix program, our goal is to give you enough time to establish a routine, progressively build strength and see genuine improvement.
CAN THE MEMBERSHIP BE PAUSED?
Yes. Memberships can be placed on hold for medical reasons (with a valid medical certificate) or travel of two weeks or more (up to a maximum of 12 weeks). We ask for 4 week’s notice for planned travel.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY INITIAL GYM CONSULTATION?
Wear comfortable exercise clothing and enclosed sports shoes and bring a water bottle. If you have any relevant scans, referrals or medical information relating to an injury or health condition, you’re welcome to bring those as well.
CAN I USE NDIS, DVA OR SPORTS INSURANCE FUNDING FOR THIS?
In many cases, yes, however this is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility depends on your individual plan, funding type, clinical requirements and the services you are approved to access. Our team can help review your situation and advise what may be possible before you get started.
I'M STILL NOT SURE WHETHER THIS IS RIGHT FOR ME. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Book an Initial Gym Consultation. You don’t need to be certain that the Adjust Gym Membership is the right option before you come in. The consultation is specifically designed to understand where you’re starting from, what you want to achieve and what type of support you need. We’ll then recommend the most appropriate way forward.
